Meltdown

Hey guys.

My last post was about the challenges a teenage mind undergo when having no other activities other than school work. So today I'm going to talk about how I came to the conclusion of having a hobby should actually be compulsory for teenagers.

Yes we will have to travel back in time to a young grade 8 learner.
So there I was, working as hard as ever cramming every bit of information into my head right before the exams. Not one second to spare for myself, as if the world depends on me having this knowledge. Neah, I'm just joking.

Yes, I did study very hard last year but nobody study's that hard. To tell you the truth I was actually spending two to three hours studying and spending the rest of the time stressing over the test. Not very ideal, and not very fun either. I did get good grades obviously but that isn't the point.

The point is I was more unhappy than a teenager should be in high school and only realized I was over stressed after the exams. So I started thinking what to do about it other than just complaining about it and came up with a pretty good solution.

My solution came down to taking up a hobby of some sort. And since it was vacation luckily, I had a lot of time to think about it. My hobby was taking up art when we were at home and if we went away I turned to books.... This helped me more than you can imagine. During exams I banned myself from reading or else I wouldn't focus on studying but still kept to the arts. In all my summaries of the work there are a few sketches bringing the work to life.

I forgot about stress, and now I am still a book worm and a very talkative 'artist'. I know a few of you must be thinking that I could have spent some time with my friends, but the thing is we're both supposed to be studying and it's not something you can always turn to right before exams.

#Stressed

Hey so I've been noticing a lot of students are getting stressed... Now as much as everyone loves to spend their entire day doing homework and studying, I think we all deserve a little break.

So today I'm going to talk about a little stress reliever trick.
So as much as doing drugs and skipping school really does help to take the edge off... It's not ideal and not very practical either guys. So let's go to the next best thing.

Taking up a hobby! School stresses you out, it's a fact guys. If you think your not going to stress about a test a week from now your totally right! But the day before the test I'm just going to take a wild guess and say you all have a mini panic attack.

So to my stressed viewers I'm going to suggest you take on a hobby. And no that doesn't mean go chill with your friends everyday. Even the most sociable people need a break from people.

So my advice is take a break when you need it and start thinking about something you'll enjoy other than the beautiful pile of homework your teachers so generously supply to you. Even if you just take an hour everyday to just do something that makes you relax and feel good about yourself. I'll give you a few suggestions and then please leave a comment to let me know if it helped.

-Sport (a personal favorite of mine)
-Playing an instrument
-Art
-Reading
-Shopping
-Skating
-Scrapbooking

Guys these are only ideas, but I can promise you it really helps. If you just take a step back and realize your still young enough to start a hobby that can turn into a career you'll actually enjoy, but you also have to realize your old enough for bad decisions you make now can ruin your future career.

So get some running shoes and... Go

My report card day

So last time I gave advice about this, so now it's time to tell you my story and earn your respect and trust over this subject.

Once upon a time when the world still seemed like a small world to a 7th grader....

She groaned as she was woken up... Thinking about the day ahead. This might be her last day to freedom but this was also the day her freedom could be taken out from under her.

YES, this was the most dreaded day of a 7th grader's life. Report card day! She knew the year she was just about to complete was her worst because she chose to sit back in class and only focus on her social life.

Jip, kids are That stupid. The 7th grader had made her friends in class but made enemies with this dretched day. The entire day was spent worrying and knowing that today would only result in... A ticking time bomb.

Her hands were shaking as she reached out to the one thing that she would sell a kidney to change... There it was, in her hands was the bomb. She opened it and with that her mind already began to run with excuses...

Excuses:
-I was just off this term
-Maybe we should consider moving
-The entire class did badly

Although she knew none of the excuses would work except maybe one...

Boom! 2 late bomb had detonated and all was lost! As the screaming began and questions drowned out her planned out excuse... She was sadly forced to admit defeat and was forced to use ghe most dangerous apology...

"I promise do better in next year's term", Ugh next time I'd rather shoot myself than use that!

But it did get better that year... Worked hard and got results and probably worked out better than running away.

Gruesome Report Card day

Hey guys...

So today I will be talking about the scariest most gruesome day of a teenager's life! And that of course is Report card day...

Now you get four kind of people when dealing with reports. (In my opinion)
  1. The nervous but smart.
These are the people who always do the best but are still nervous they get a bad grade even though they can match Einstein's IQ.
Piece of advice... When your nervous keep it to yourself! We know your nervous 'cause you studied really hard but seriously! People are getting ready to give up their social life because of their report card.

   2. The  know it alls

Now these aren't necessarily the smartest people but they definitely act like they are. These are the people who just sit back and criticize while they are the last ones to talk. If you are one of these good for you.... What an achievement!

   3. The funny but in trouble

All trouble makers are funny... Well most are. But the problem with that is their parents don't find their Raport cards as funny and the troubled of troubles all go white as a ghost when they get their raport cards.

   4. The silent students

You know those people who are always detached from the entire class... And then BOOM their report card comes and you can only stare. Just because their detached doesn't mean their not listening.

Now all these student might not stress as much as the next one but I can promise you one thing...
When you give your report to your parents you all just wait as if it's a ticking time bomb. And thanks to that reaction you have your motivation for your next test!

Ps.
When giving your report card get a few excuses ready ex. "The entire class got a bad grade!", "The teacher didn't even mention that kind of work!"
Or if that doesn't work do what I do, get ready to run!

Inside of teenager brain

14/04/2016
Hey guys...

I'm currently a ninth grader in 'lovely' South-Africa who has decided to start a blog about high school.
I'll be writing about the challenges of high school... Now as every teenager knows high school is VERY hard but also has it's upsides.

I'll be focusing on those problems, upsides and even just a story that you'll be able to relate to. I know high school isn't the care free place everyone made it out to be, but maybe being able to relate to a story or just ask advice from someone that won't judge will make it a bit easier.

It's time to see the inside of a teenager's brain, and what really lies beneath all the attitude and hormones.
